The people of Majorca still today relate the Cura mountain with Ramon Llull.
The spirit of prayer and contemplation and also the enthusiasm for his doctrine,
hangs in the air of that place.
Ramon Llull (1239-1316) was born in Majorca
and lived in a society in which Moslems, Jews and Christians coexisted
peacefully.
His missionary impulse was have this context as basis. He was to
travel, to write, to make know to Popes, kings, bishops, religious men, etc ...
a method, a rational human basis, to present to speak to people of other
cultures and religions of the beauty, the truth, the love, the transcendency of
the Lord, Jesus Christ. He knew no bounds for transmitting his knowledge of God
to mankind.
Today, from Cura we want to continue in the spirit of Randa
Llull, with these characteristics:
CULTURE AND ART: All the beauty
and truth in a human being must be admired or, at least, respected. Beyond
particularities, beliefs and ideologies It is considered that everyone, at the
bottom, consciously or unconsciously tends towards complete Happiness. Possible
and desirable is intercommunication of all human dimensions which lead to good,
to beauty, to the truth, within mutual understanding and respect.
LOVE
OF OUR IDENTITY: Ramon Llull is a father of our culture and our language. He
helped to create then. Also, he lived then with a receptive attitude towards
other peoples, other mentalities, other languages.
ECUMENISM: Ramon
Llull believed in Christ and loved Him madly. That is why he thought and spoke
as a man, offering to others who did not think or believe like him, the best of
himself.
PERSONALISM: The thought-provoking mountain of Cura invites to
live Ramon's expressed in his book 'Llibre de l'Amic i l'Amat (The Book of the
Friend and Loved One).
